Antiaging tips when you are in your 20s

When you are in your 20s, an antiaging game plan for your skin seems a far away notion. You might think antiaging is only for those in their 40s and upwards but implementing a few skincare habits at this age can go a long way in ensuring you hedge your aging bets.

Drink water

Hydration is key in this decade and it’s important to do it while you can because as you age, our skins loses its ability to retain moisture. One of the easiest way to do is to drink lots of water. Increasing your water intake helps to improve your skin’s quality. And by drinking more water, we mean plain water and cutting down on drinks high in sugar and caffeine.

Use a moisturizer

While water hydrates you from the inside, it’s also important to find a moisturizer to hydrate your skin from the outside. Use a moisturizer that is suitable for your skin type (and do not mistake oily skin for hydrated skin. Oily skin needs moisturising too and this can help to minimise acne breakouts), best used immediately after washing your face. Look for moisturizers with active ingredients such as Vitamin A and C that can help to combat inflammation and protect your skin.

Use a gentle cleanser

Try using cleansers that are free of SLS, parabens and even fragrance which can all work against your skin and even cause skin irritation. Use something gentle that’s not going to strip your skin of it’s natural moisture.

Consider injectables

Injectables these days are not just about erasing lines and wrinkles. Microinjections of hyaluronic acid placed under the skin can help to improve skin elasticity and moisture, keeping skin healthy both in and out.
