#1: Start each day with clean skin
A good cleanser is important not only for cleaning out impurities, it also helps to prep your skin for any essential nutrients you want to apply to you skin, such as serums and moisturisers. You might like to try Skin Gym, a great cleanser for melting away traces of oil, impurities and makeup. What many love about Skin Gym is that it does not contain SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), so it’s gentle on skin and doesn’t strip skin of any natural oils.
#2: Remove your makeup every night
This is one beauty sin that deserves a place all on its own in beauty hell. Sleep is one of the best things you can do for your mind, body and skin, as it repairs and rejuvenates during this period of slumber. By not removing makeup, you are essentially depriving your skin’s natural ability to regenerate, since taking off makeup allows your pores to release sebum that rehydrates and protects your skin from free radicals in the air. Also, by not removing make up before you sleep, your makeup can mix up with the dirt and oils on your skin leading to clogged pores ie nasty breakouts and blackheads. If you’re looking for a good 2-in-one makeup remover and cleanser, we recommend Lemon Quartz, that melts away impurities and even waterproof makeup, leaving behind silky soft skin, with a fresh zesty scent.

#3: Moisturising should be a priority
Daily moisturizing is vital for healthy skin, although it’s not uncommon for many to think of it as a habit born out of vanity. The human skin is the body’s largest organ and requires regular TLC (tender, loving, care) to stay young, blemish-free and healthy. We love Hologram Pore Minimising Skin Primer, for ticking all the right boxes. It contains optimal amounts of Vitamin A, C, and E in their freshest and most absorbable forms. It also works as an illuminating skin primer that lifts and tones skin, while sealing in moisture and protecting it from pollution and free radical damage. To ensure your skin looks its best, keep your skin well hydrated.
#4: Use sun protection always
All dermatologists I have met cannot stress this enough. Sunscreen is a must. Period. If you don’t already know, sun exposure is responsible for most of the visible aging of your skin – in fact far more than all other factors combined. Wrinkles, pigmentation, sun spots, reduced skin elasticity, the degradation of skin texture, and many other signs of skin aging, are all caused by UV rays from the sun.
There have been many scientific estimates which show that up to 80-90% of how young or old you look for your age is due to how much sun exposure you’ve had. If you want to slow down the rate at which your skin ages, invest in a good sunscreen today.

#5: Deep clean with a scrub and a mask once a week
So, you’ve done everything listed above but still don’t see a glow to your skin? The culprit? Dead skin cells.
They have been held responsible for everything from a dull skin tone and a sallow complexion to clogged pores and breakouts. The best way to get rid of them is to regularly exfoliate your skin. Two to three times a week is ideal as you wouldn’t want to over-exfoliate either. With your skin clean and well-exfoliated, this is the perfect time to put on your favourite mask to provide your skin with the essence and vitamins it needs. There’s no better way to round off the evening with a little DIY facial.
