#1 Double cleanse
Good skin starts with clean skin and double cleaning is a trusted and proven way to get skin well cleaned.
Start with a gentle oil cleanser that will help to clean off your makeup, preferably one that’s non-comedogenic, that won’t clog your pores. Finish off with a second round of cleanser, one that foams for this round, so that it thoroughly cleans off all remaining traces of makeup. Do note however that well cleaned doesn’t mean squeaky clean literally. Skin should feel soft and supple and not dry and tight at the end of a double cleansing step.
#2 Exfoliate
Exfoliation is vital for good skin health as it rids your face of excess dead skin cells and removes blackheads, and if you ask me, I think many of us don’t exfoliate enough. The way I see it, not exfoliating enough is akin to missing out on a good opportunity to let fresh, new skin show up.
Get up to speed with your exfoliation ritual pronto. If you can, exfoliate at least once or twice a week, your skin will love you for that. Choose from a physical exfoliant, one with microbeads or granules to remove dead skin cells as you gently ‘scrub’ your face or from a chemical exfoliant that uses acids to melt away dead skin cells.

#3 Essence
Another underrated skincare product, essences can help to increase moisture retention in your skin and is a great precursor to other skincare ingredients, to help with better absorption of the other products you’ll be layering onto your skin.
Plus, this light, water-based product can enhance skin health and glow to your skin. Who would say no to that?
#4 Serum
There is a myriad of serums out there for different skincare concerns and if glass skin is what you’re after, choose a serum that has antioxidant benefits, which will protect the skin from free radicals and slow down the aging process.
Also look out for serums with hyaluronic acid. Another ingredient well known for increasing water content, hyaluronic acid helps to moisturise the skin, so skin looks healthier and more glowy.
#5 Moisturise
Moisturisers give skin an intense burst of hydration and no matter your skin type (yes, oily skin too, especially oily skin!), they all need moisturisers in their skincare routine.
These days, it’s not too hard to find moisturisers that lightweight and absorb quickly into the skin, so that you won’t be left with a greasy residue.
#6 Sunscreen
Sunscreen is a very, very important step when it comes to achieving glass skin. A decent coverage daily offers your skin protection from the sun’s UV rays, reducing the chances of sun spots, uneven skin tone and the formation of lines and wrinkles.
When it comes to sunscreen, there simply are no ifs, buts or maybes. You just need to be diligent about it, whether you’re indoors or out, for healthy, youthful skin.
